Commercial RFQ Builder
Create structured, unambiguous Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for international manufacturers. Enforce precise material specifications, packaging rules, Incoterms, and third-party inspection standards before committing factory capital.

1. Project & Sourcing Identification
2. Product Specifications & Order Quantities
State exact materials, finishes, dimensions, tolerances, and branding methods.

4. Do you agree to third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) before balance payment release?
Why Sourcing Inquiries Require Structured RFQs
Preventing the "Cheap Price, Shoddy Goods" Trap
Overseas suppliers routinely quote low prices to win business when product specifications are vague. Later, during production, they substitute cheaper grades of plastic, thinner stainless steel, or sub-standard packaging to protect their profit margins.
A rigorous RFQ protects your business by establishing uncompromising baseline standards before quotations are collected:
- Material Grade Exactness: Specify exact alloys (e.g. 304 food-grade vs 201 industrial steel), plastic polymers (BPA-free Tritan vs recycled polycarbonate), and fabric density (GSM and thread count).
- Quality Control Acceptance Thresholds: Explicitly mandate ISO 2859-1 (AQL Level II) pre-shipment inspection. State clearly that the buyer's balance payment is contingent upon passing this inspection.
- Export Packaging Standards: Require 5-ply corrugated export cartons, edge protectors, drop-test certification, and barcode scannability verification.
Essential RFQ Commercial Clauses
Never request an open "price per piece" without designating:
- Governing Incoterm: Request FOB (Port of Origin) so you can independently audit factory production costs without hidden forwarder markups.
- Payment Schedule: Standard international terms for custom manufacturing are 30% T/T deposit on PO issuance, and 70% balance against inspection certificate and Bill of Lading copy. Never pay 100% upfront.
- Tooling & Mold Ownership: If custom molds or dies are paid for by the buyer, specify that the tooling remains the exclusive proprietary property of the buyer.
